In every great bottle of wine, there is a story. Our story is filled with uniqueness of place, a year of sun and rain, and the art and craft of winemaking. The story is about our people, our guests, and our passion. This is a love story, and the best love stories never end.

In this year’s blend, roughly equal proportions of Roussanne, Viognier, and Marsanne were blended – creating a magical wine that won’t last long. Grapes from three vineyards in Monterey County were picked at various times through harvest depending on ripening. The Roussanne and Marsanne were picked first, both from the Boekenoogen Vineyard in the upper Carmel Valley. These two varieties are extremely textural, rich and dry (and are used for Hermitage Blanc wines in the Northern Rhone – some extremely age worthy gems). The Viognier came from Cedar Lane Vineyard and offers a bright perfumy lift that the other two varieties sometimes lack. Grenache Blanc was picked from Mission Ranch Vineyard in the Arroyo Seco AVA and added to the blend (but at 1%, isn’t contributing a whole lot – just saying). Once picked the grapes were gently pressed before barrel fermenting and aging for a total of 11 months. Dry, textural and rich, this wine has alluring qualities that evolve as it opens.
