Produced from the Organically grown grapes at Folktale Winery, this Nouveau was hand harvested October 10 and sorted into fermenter bins along with dry ice. We covered the bins and tucked them in the back of our cellar for carbonic fermentation. As tempting as it was, we didn’t peek at the grapes for three weeks and let the enzymes break the sugar down into alcohol - producing floral crunchy cranberry flavors. On halloween, we lightly pressed the grapes and let the wine finish it’s fermentation in tank until being bottled 11/26. 25 cases produced. Enjoy the first taste of our harvest!

Brilliant rose gold in color, the Rosé Brut sparkling wine opens with soft notes of watermelon, kiwi and a beautiful yeasty quality that invites you in. The palate is elegant, with cherry, floral, and a creamy texture that has a bright finish.
This Pétillant Naturel is a living wine with live cultures and its flavor will continue to evolve as it ages. More like a craft beer than a glass of Champagne, this wine has a wonderful layers of stone fruit, lemon, and pear, along with a crisp, dry palate. It reminds us of a lemon cream pie with almond crust- delicious!
Fresh and floral, this Sauvignon Blanc opens with Meyer lemon meringue, key lime, and citrus blossom along with ripe jalapeño, green papaya, with undertones of straw, graham cracker, and a light nutty quality.
Floral pink jasmine, and orange blossom with pomelo, lemon rind and green apple. This Albarino has a creamy honey and sherbet texture with a salty and crushed rock minerality from the aging on its lees.
Another beautiful vintage from our estate Mission Ranch vineyard in Arroyo Seco. Following in the footsteps of past vintages, this Chardonnay is cleanly balanced with notes of soft melon, Meyer lemon, apple apricot, and kiwi fruit. Hints of mineral and chalk, green tea, white flower, spice, and creamy toasted brioche round out the palate.
Perched on the east-facing terraces of the Santa Lucia mountain range located just south of the Monterey Bay, the Santa Lucia Highlands are world renowned for producing some of California’s best Chardonnay. Our cool-climate Chardonnay highlights the unique minerality of the region along with Meyer lemon, stone fruit and toasted almond aroma.
This vintage is beautifully balanced by the soft, new French oak aging which lifts the flavors of the fruit and classic minerality. Tropical fruit forward, the bouquet reminds us of a coconut crème pie; rich, creamy, toasty goodness, with a soft hint of baking spices. Beautiful mineral notes of flinty graphite compliment the fruit, creating a supple mouthfeel and luxurious finish.
Brosseau Vineyard in the Chalone AVA has a remarkable combination of limestone soils, weather patterns and organic farming that produces intense minerality, texture and richness in its wines. Our Chardonnay was hand harvested and slowly fermented with no additions – only a small dose of SO2 was added at bottling. Enjoy this natural, low SO2 wine from a truly remarkable site.
Soft and delicate, this Grenache Blanc reveals its elegant layers as it opens with notes of dried rose petals, lychee, and strawberry, followed by deeper flavors of honeydew melon and ripe stone fruit and a gentle, warming finish.
Tropical passion fruit, guava, red grapefruit, apricot pith, light wisteria, and fruity pebbles, with a crisp and fresh texture and acidity.
Often referred to as “orange wine” the practice of leaving the grape skins to ferment with the pressed juice dates back thousands of years to the Caucasus region where Europe and Asia intersect. This ancient practice of extended skin contact during the fermentation of white wines produces a rich and complex wine with added tannins and phenols, and of course the distinctive amber, or “orange,” hue. This wine expands the pairing options of white wine. The bright acid and added tannic texture allows this white wine to pair well with bigger, bolder foods, similar to a light red wine. Lightly chill and enjoy this unique white wine experience.
This Pinot opens with juicy notes of blackberry, cassis, rose petals, and something like a strawberry-rhubarb pie. While the bouquet is delicate and nuanced, the palate is bold and complex with strong notes of black pepper, licorice, and spice. Elegant, complex, and spicy, this wine should be decanted before enjoying.
Our boldest wine yet, this smoky, savory flavor bomb is loaded with decadent layers – cured meat and white pepper, blueberry and plum, cedar and sweet tobacco. This wine will shine in 2-3 years- consider keeping it in your cellar to age till then.
A collaboration wine crafted by Sam Berketa from Alpha Box & Dice, our partner winery in Australia, and Folktale’s own, David Baird. While the adults weren’t looking, the two decided to make a special blend to commemorate the 2018 vintage. De-stemmed Pinot Noir was placed atop whole cluster Syrah grapes to ferment natively in a single bin. The result... if it hadn’t turned out so tasty, they would both be grounded.
A bold Syrah, this is a smoky and savory flavor bomb loaded with layers – charred cedar wood, vanilla, soy, black tea, white pepper, sweet cherry cola, baking spice, tobacco, well worn leather, baker’s chocolate, and mocha. This wine shines now and will only enhance with age. Enjoy at your leisure.

This Pinot showcases the unique minerality and earthiness of Mission Ranch Vineyard’s western canyon orientation. It presents dark red fruit with notes of violets, spice, and wet stone along with bright acid and a full bodied texture.
This is a big, robust wine with layers of cedar, cherry cola, baking spice, and lingering soft tannin. We aged 20% of this wine in new French Oak barrels for 18 months, with the balance in neutral oak, allowing the wine to integrate and round out. The result is a rich luscious wine that pairs well with big flavors and big personalities.
